Hope for the Best, Plan for the Worst
March 21, 2008 by Tami HernandezIf a public relations crisis should hit your business, would you be prepared to deal with it? If your company is like many, you may find yourself in the unenviable position of scrambling for a strategy to manage the crisis once it arrives. It’s far better to proactively plan for potential crises than to simply react and make crucial decisions under fire. Doing so can even help to identify possible trouble spots and give you the insight to address them before they erupt into full-blown emergencies.
Kick-Stands No Longer Included???

When I was a kid, I had a banana seat bicycle that I rode up and down my block with pride. Being the dare-devil, carefree kid that I was, I even flew over the handle bars a few times and ended up picking gravel out of my knee more than once. There were no helmets.

New Media Continues to Rise
March 7, 2008 by Tami HernandezWhile we’re on the subject of new media, I wanted to take a moment and call your attention to the findings of a couple of recent studies. The following is offered without comment:
- According a Pew Internet & American Life Project survey which concluded in December of last year, Internet users who visited video-sharing sites such as YouTube increased 45% from the prior year. In their words, “on an average day, the number of users of video sites nearly doubled from the end of 2006 to the end of 2007.” Impressive growth, and far from peaking.
- Digital marketing and media research firm eMarketer’s Podcast Advertising report showed the US podcasting audience in 2007 to be 18.5 million people, an astounding 287% increase over 2006. That number is expected to rise to 65 million over the next four years with some 25 million active users listening to podcasts at least once a week.
